AA Roadwatch and the GAA have issued important traffic advice to Donegal supporters heading to Dublin on Saturday for the championship clash with Cork.
There will be serious traffic diversions in place around the city – due to a major day of sport in the capital.
There are three games down for decision at GAA HQ – with the Donegal minors starting things off against Cork in the MFC All-Ireland quarter-final.
Donegal and Cork senior sides go to war at 4pm – before Westmeath and Mayo face off at 6pm.
However, just across the city, a high-profile glamour friendly between Celtic and Barcelona will be held at the Aviva Stadium.
Traffic management authorities have put a number of diversions in place, so if you’re heading to Dublin to cheer on Rory Gallagher and SP Barrett’s sides in action take note:
“Dublin’s north and south quays will be closed to eastbound and westbound traffic at O’Connell bridge from 8pm on Friday July 29th until 6am on Tuesday August 2nd.
The closure will be to facilitate essential Luas Cross City construction works over the weekend.
If you’re travelling through the city between these days, you’ll be facing major traffic disruptions and diversions will be in place.
The Luas Red Line has only recently reopened following extensive works for the Luas Cross City construction.
To help ease the disruption, additional Luas and Dart services will be in operation on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday.
There will also be free parking on Bank Holiday Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Luas and Irish Rail park and ride sites located within the Short Hop Fare Zone.”
