PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Temple Street Children’s University Hospital is urging parents not to take children to the facility today due to a power cut.

Hundreds of children travel to Temple Street from Donegal on a weekly basis, but a statement has just been released from Temple Street representatives urging parents not to take children to the hospital.

So if your child had a planned appointment today, then please do not travel.

Management have already cancelled up to twenty scheduled surgeries and x-rays.

A statement issued to RTE News said, “Five patients in the PICU were transferred to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.

“They were accompanied by Temple Street PICU staff and other medical staff will also go to Crumlin as required.

“The hospital has postponed 20 scheduled surgeries and all elective X-rays and has urged parents not to bring their children to the hospital today.

“It is also “off-call” for ambulances.

“It said all other patients in the hospital can be cared for “within existing resources”.

“Crumlin along with the Mater and Beaumont hospitals will accept transfers if needed.
