BUSINESS: The fabulous Shandon Hotel and Spa are celebrating their first year in business this week.

Spa & Leisure Manager Chanelle Da Silva has expressed her delight at the support received from the local community, wider Donegal community and further afield.

The demand for the spa has been unprecedented since August 2015, even through the winter, before the hotel opened, the spa still managed a very steady and strong trade.

Manager of The Shandon Spa, Chanelle Da Silva has been delighted at their first year in business.

The hotel has now opened since Easter and this has really catapulted results, with both facilities complimenting each other allowing for the ultimate relaxation & pampering experience with unrivalled views over sheephaven bay.

Shandon Spa provides a totally new perspective on health, beauty and relaxation. The very latest facilities are imaginatively pieced together so that you journey effortlessly from one exquisitely soothing experience to the next, while enjoying the wonderful scenery of one of Ireland’s loveliest coastlines.

Tired spirits are invigorated and cares are gently swept away. The Spa has been built to take full advantage of its breathtaking setting. The full-height picture windows ensure that guests on each of the three floors don’t just relax, but also have their inner health restored by the beauty of Sheephaven Bay and its surrounding hills and mountains.

The Spa interior is designed and equipped to highest international standards. A pretty water feature sets the scene as you arrive. Enter the marbled hallway and be greeted by the receptionist who will arrange your day and show you around. Complimentary herbal tea or coffee is provided in the ground floor lounge area while you wait for your spa day to begin.

In the amazing vitality area you will find a luxurious range of heat and cooling experiences to cleanse and relax the mind, body and soul. The Vitality Pool has carefully positioned water jets to massage different areas of your neck and body.

Move on to discover three heated loungers and two state of the art lifestyle showers, where you can experience tropical downpours or gentle mists. There are individual foot spas covered in tiny glass mosaic, offering an intimate and understated ambience that contrasts with the elegant luxury of the Italian marble which predominates elsewhere.

The all-encompassing heat of the sauna eliminates toxins from your body before you step over to the Salt Grotto to experience its amazing mist, infused with Sea Salt and Eucalyptus. Outside you will discover the Canadian hot tub. Lie back in the comforting warmth of the water and enjoy the sights and sounds of the area.

There are eight spacious treatment rooms, two of them double, so that if you wish, you can be pampered alongside a friend or partner.
Finally, we have a relaxation room where you can reflect on your Shandon Spa experience before returning to the realities of everyday life.

In summary, what we offer is luxury in a setting of total peace and quiet. Those who know Donegal appreciate its calming effect on the soul. They are drawn by the hauntingly beautiful hills, the rugged cliffs and the seas which constantly change colour from deep greens to the brightest blues.

We believe that spending time in our spa enhances the effect of these attractions and we cordially invite you to come along and find out for yourself.
