Irish soccer star revels in Derry’s emphatic derby win over Harps

FOOTBALL: James McClean, like him, loath him, love him, one thing is for sure you can’t ignore him – and the former Derry City player was at it again on social media last night.

The West Bromwich Albion midfielder, derided Harps fans for what he called a ‘hysterical’ reaction when Harps earned a first league win in over a decade against their rivals in March.

McClean said it was long ‘overdue’ and told Harps fans not to get carried away.

Derry City were in rampant form last night at Finn Park, and ran out convincing 5-0 winners on a bad night at the office for Harps.

McClean took to Facebook to send his former teammate and good friend Rory Kelly a message about the game.

He kept it short and simple by simply saying ‘Absolute rout’!

The status was liked by Derry goal-scorer Aaron McEneff who netted two penalties, and Tony McNamee, who had his two sons playing for either side last night.

The former Lifford Celtic star must be a Derry fan! 😉
