GAA: The All-County League Division One clash between St Michael’s and Bundoran was halted for over twenty minutes this afternoon.

The referee was forced to stop the match after a St Michael’s player picked up a nasty head injury with just eleven minutes of normal time remaining.

The clash was sustained as a result of an accidental collision, and an ambulance was called to take the injured player to hospital.

The St Michael’s player was taken to Sligo General Hospital, where he is expected to be kept in overnight for observation.

Before the game was stopped, relegation threatened Bundoran were leading St Michael’s by three points.

However, Eddie Harkin’s side dug deep and managed to claw themselves back into the contest to earn a share of the spoils.

Colm McFadden, Christy Toye, Martin McElhinney and Mark Anthony McGinley all returned to action for St Michael’s this afternoon.

Bundoran showed tremendous fighting spirit and battling qualities and showed they’ll be a handful for any side in the Division on their home patch.

Final score: Bundoran 0-17 St Michael’s 1-14
