downings-beach-2Temperatures are expected to shoot up across Donegal for the next three days.

Met Eireann say temperatures will reach the mid-twenties today, tomorrow and Wednesday.

But while Rathmullan, Dunfanaghy and Bundoran may sweat it by the seaside, bursts of showery rain will not be far away.

A forecaster said: “Monday, will be a dry day, with good sunshine in many areas, but some cloud is possible.

“Warmer than today, with maximum of 19 to 24 Celsius, coolest along south and east coasts, in mostly moderate south to southeast breezes, fresh along Atlantic coasts.”

3 day outlook

Monday, will be a dry day, with most of the early fog lifting quickly, but a few patches may well linger for a time, in some coastal areas, especially the southeast. A bright day overall, with broken cloud allowing some good sunny spells to develop. Warm by early afternoon, with top temperatures of 19 to 23 C., best in the western half of the country. Winds moderate southeasterly, but fresh at times along the southwest coast.

Tuesday night: Very mild, humid and close on Tuesday night with showery rain mainly in western and southwestern counties with the risk of some thundery outbreaks in places there. Overnight lows of 14 or 15 degrees Celsius in moderate southeast breezes.

Wednesday: Still rather warm and humid on Wednesday. Some warm sunny breaks are possibly in places but overall it will be rather cloudy with showery rain, turning thundery in places. Afternoon highs of 17 to 21 degrees Celsius depending on sunny breaks.
