Political activist Liam Whyte has welcomed repair work carried out on the Moagh bridge in Ardara.

The Bridge which has been in disrepair since 2009 finally has been repaired in the last few weeks.

Whyte has welcomed the works done and has said that ” locals who have been campainging since 2009 can finally use the bridge without having to worry about safety concerns”.

Whyte has also called for repairs to be carried out on the adjoining road which was damaged by a landslide in late 2015 to be started as soon as possible; ” I have worked closesly with Cllr Micheal MacGiollaeasbuig on this and I am delighted that our representations on this issue have been successful. We are calling on the Council to prioritise this road as locals have had too use alternative routes for over 6 months now.”

“We hope to be able to progress other roads issues in the Ardara area over the coming months and look forward to working with communities locally to progress much needed repairs”.
