OLYMPICS: Jason Quigley has said it’s time for Michael Conlan to join him in the Professional ranks after his disgusting exit from the Olympics.

The boxing world was left stunned yesterday, when they witnessed one of the worst decisions you’ll ever likely to see in a ring.

Belfast boxer Michael Conlan, the current World Champion and the favourite to win a Gold medal, was blatantly robbed in a fight he completely dominated and controlled.

It has left a dark cloud hanging over the IABA, with Conlan’s fight the latest in a long line of contentious decisions at the Olympics in Rio.

Boxers from all over the world have expressed their utter disgust at the decision, and Quigley has told Donegal Daily it’s time Conlan turned professional.

Quigley told Donegal Daily, “Things haven’t change a bit, Mayweather was robbed at the Olympics, Roy Jones Jr got robbed at the Olympics, and the same is happening in Rio.

“It happens every Olympic cycle, but people forget about it – because of the four year gap between each games.

“It was a disgusting decision, and it’s time Conlan  joined me in the Pro ranks now!”

“Amateur boxing is corrupt!”
