Festivities are to kick off this weekend as Dunkineely festival gets under way.
The festival has something for everyone; performances from local bands such as the Killaghtee band and The Lock-Ins, a boat club regatta, and a nun run!
Friday 26th August
7.15pm opening of the festival by the Killaghtee Band and local rally cars starting at St. Mary’s Hall, children’s fancy dress, with Mickey & Minnie.
Saturday 27th August
2pm Bruckless Boat Club Regatta @ Bruckless Pier
4pm – 6pm Fun Day @ Bruckless Community Centre
Lord Mayor Dance – 11.30pm til late, Crowning of the Dunkineely 2016 Lord Mayor – live band (none the wiser) in the community centre.
Sunday 28th August
12.30pm Father Ted has the Nuns On The Run 5K fun/run walk starting at the mart.
3pm Slow bike race (Dunkineely NS)
5pm Throwing of the horseshoe (Mac’s car park)
Closing of the festival @ Kennedy’s car park with live band The Lock-Ins
