A special remembrance service will be held for bereaved parents upstairs in St. Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny on Saturday from 3 to 5. The service will be followed by a butterfly release and refreshments.

The service is orgnaised by Feileacain, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland, and is intended to give grieving families a chance to remember their babies and meet others going through a similar situation.

The service is for everyone affected by the loss of  a baby, be it mothers, fathers, aunties, uncles, siblings, grandparents etc.

Speaking to Donegal Daily, Charlotte McCauley said; “The service is very personal and gives us a chance to remember our babies. It truly is a beautiful experience.”

If anyone would like to help out by doing a reading, bringing a candle, or doing some baking, you can message Charlotte on Remembering Baby Rachael’s Facebook page, or Feileacain.

Everyone is welcome to this beautiful service.

You can find out more by visiting the Facebook page for the event.
