Joan Hegarty from Kilcar has passed her driving test, aged 78!
Joan, a mum of three and grandmother of three, is delighted!
One of her grandchildren even told her she should apply for a job at ‘Top Gear’!
She applied for lessons five years ago following the death of her husband, Ray. Her first theory test was three years ago, and took her first trial driving test two years ago, so when the big day rolled around for the real test – Joan was well prepared.
D’s School of Motoring in Killybegs remarked that she is the oldest student to ever take driving lessons.
Joan has especially thanked Diane Harvey for teaching her everything she needs to know to get motoring, and for being very encouraging.
