St Eunan’s make big statement as they earn win over Fishermen

St Eunan’s sent out a message of intent to the rest of the county with a big, big win against Killybegs tonight in their second group game of the Donegal SFC.

St Eunan’s earned an 11 point win over Killybegs in Fintra this evening.

David McGinley’s side were very impressive – and they reiterated once again that if anyone has any ambitions of winning the county championship, they’re probably going to need to beat the Black and Amber.

St Eunan’s were held in their opener against Kilcar in O’Donnell Park in May, and headed into this game knowing they needed a win to avoid a shock exit.

They delivered a ruthless, clinical and professional performance to simply blow away Killybegs on their home patch and fired a warning shot to others in the process.

It has now set up a mouth-watering clash with St Michael’s in the final group game next weekend.

St Michael’s face Kilcar in Towney tomorrow afternoon, and it promises to be the most intriguing game down for decision all weekend.

St Eunan’s are now on three points after two games, and face St Michael’s next.

St Michael’s are on two points, with Kilcar on one, and as stated above face off against each other tomorrow in their second group game.

Killybegs have lost both their group games.

Final score: Killybegs 1-06 St Eunan’s 2-14
