RACE AROUND IRELAND: Jason Black is motoring well, and spirits are still high as he continues his marathon trek around Ireland.

The popular local businessman and adventurer is competing in the ‘Race around Ireland’ – which has been described as one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world.

His support team are delighted with his progress, and Black has passed the halfway mark!

He posted a cheeky picture on of him approaching a Go-Safe Speed Van, accompanied by the tagline, ‘Catch me if you can’ on his Facebook timeline earlier.

He had been suffering from severe pain in his feet earlier in the week, but he has shrugged that off and is content with his physical condition at this stage of the event.

Black posted the following update on his Facebook page last night, he’s currently en-route to Ennis.

The team wrote, “Jason has left Kinvara, Clare and is heading for a 120km stint to Lissycasey, Clare tonight.

“He is in good form and the pain in his feet is getting much better.

“Thank you to everybody for the continued support, some of the messages written to Jason are being read to him while on the bike for motivation and are definitely keeping him going strong!!

“Track him live on https://gps.blackblox.si/race/rai2016 and get out and give him a shout if you see us coming along🚴🏽🚴🏽
