Congratulations to club President Gerry Gallagher on a very successful President’s day last Saturday at Otway.

Ideal weather conditions set the tone for scoring, and the visitors set the pace with a winning score for 9 holes of 20 pts by Paddy Sheridan, followed closely in second place by Chuck McTaggart.

The ladies 9 hole competition was won by Patricia McAteer, just nipping Hazel Russell into second place on BoT. Paul Murray continued his strong run of form to claim victory with a winning score of 43 pts, with Philip Friel in second on 41, and Patsy Gallagher a further 2 pts back in third.

Damien Gallagher took the gross prize, with the nines going to Brendan Gallagher and Noel Kiernan. Damien Gallagher also took the prize for the longest drive, with nearest the pin won by William Roarty.

Congratulations to all the winners, and to Gerry and family for their hospitality both on and off the course.

Best of luck to Martin Duffy’s minor league team who travel to Buncrana municipal course for the second leg in the semi-final, with a tough match waiting for a place in this years final.
