A grant of €96,800 is being issued to the Donegal Co. Council for improvement works on various islands and for facilities serving the islands.

The new grant benefits four counties, worth a total of €654,900, however Donegal is set to receive the least funding.

Mayo Co. Council and Cork Co. Council will receive €138,800 and €173,300 respectively.

Galway Co. Council is set to receive the most funding of €246,000.

The grant was announced today by the Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne.

Minister of State Kyne said that he was delighted to be announcing the new funding for the islands.

“Today’s announcement shows that my Department is committed to providing capital funding, when it has the opportunity to do so, to improve facilities for our island communities,” he said.
