Numbers waiting on trolleys at Letterkenny Hospital decreases

Over the past two days Letterkenny University Hospital has had 40 people awaiting admission to the Emergency Department on trolleys and ward overflow areas.

16 were waiting yesterday; 11 on trolleys and 5 on ward overflow areas.

Today sees a big improvement, with 3 people waiting on trolleys at the Emergency Department.

This follows a statement from management at the hospital two days ago informing people to expect delays as they had implemented their Full Capacity Protocol, for the third time in three weeks, which saw 21 people waiting on a bed.
