Daniel puts bacon ban on himself for new TV show!

Daniel O’Donnell has revealed he has put himself under a cooked
breakfast ban for his latest B&B Roadtrip television series.

The Donegal singer has visited another 12 bed and breakfasts for a
television show which will be shown on RTE in November.

But Daniel, 53, said he didn’t sample any sausages or rashers during
the filming of this year’s show.

“I didn’t have the full Irish this time around. I stayed away from the
cooked breakfasts this time. Last year I had plenty of time and I was
like a roly poly at the end of them,” he said.

But Daniel admits he still got the five star treatment when himself
and wife Majella called to stay with various bed and breakfasts across
the country.

“I have to say the cooking and baking was second to none. The apple
tarts and everything were simply delicious.

“And it wasn’t just for me because I know these people have such pride
in their bed and breakfasts and they really look after their guests,”
he added.

Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip was a huge hit for UTV Ireland.

The show was regularly one of the station’s biggest and unlikelist
ratings draws, and clocked up 335,100 viewers on average.

Hopes were high that a second series would be produced but, in what is
undoubtedly a huge setback for the station, the show has been snapped
up by its rival.

One of the highlights from the first season was Anne Sheerin, who
became an internet sensation following her reaction to Daniel and
Majella’s arrival at her B&B, in the heart of Tulsk village, Co.
Roscommon.
