GAA News: Glenfin reserves through to Senior B Quarter Final after fine win over Malin

Senior Men Football

Congratulations to the reserve team who are through to the Senior B Quarter final with a fine win over Malin. Glenfin were in control for the full hour and ran out winners on a score of Malin 0.09 – Glenfin 2.17.

Glenfin Team: Ryan Dorrian – Dean Herron – Shaun McGlynn – Finnian McGlinchey – Shane McGintry – Aodhfin McGlynn – Paul McCrudden – Peader Campbell – Hugh Foy – Ronan Carlin – Paul Bonner – Jason Marley – Matthew McGinley – Mark McGinty – Ross McDermott. Subs Used: Mark Temple – Tony Carlin – Pakie Moy – Dylan McGlynn – Seamus McGlynn.

The fate of the seniors was already decided before their Championship game with Malin but it didn’t look like that as they put it up to Malin for long periods but a late goal for Malin made the win more comfortable looking than it was. Final Score Malin 2.20 – Glenfin 1.13.

Both the senior and reserves are away to Glencolmcille next Sunday the 11 th at 1.30pm and 3pm. Out 3 rd team play Glenswilly at home on Wednesday the 7 th of September at 7.00pm.

Minor Board

Hard luck to our U13 Boys team who lost out to Gweedore on Wednesday evening the 31 st . Their next fixture is home to St Eunan’s on Sunday the 4th at 6pm.

U13 Girls started their league off with an away game in Donegal town on Saturday the 3rd at 1.30pm. The game ended in a draw. Their next fixture is home to Convoy at 6.30pm next Friday 9 th of September

Senior Ladies Football

Our senior ladies lost to Moville in the ladies senior championship final on Sunday the 4th of September in Muff. It was a very close first half but a late rally by Moville saw them scoring 2.04 in the last ten minute of the first half to open a gap the was too hard for the Glenfin ladies to close. To Glenfins credit the tried very hard to keep in touch but lost in the end on a score of Moville 5.15 – Glenfin 4.08.
