Stephen McLaughlin’s brilliant start to the season has been recognized by the clubs fans – after they named him their Player of the Month.

The former Finn Harps and Derry City playmaker scored three goals during August, and delivered a host of impressive displays for The Shrimpers.

He had an injury-hit campaign last season, but McLaughlin has put his injury woes behind him and is determined to have a big, big season.

He’s started in the right manner and manager Phil Brown has praised McLaughlin in the local press.

McLaughlin posted the following message on his Facebook timeline, “Buzzing to win player of the month 💪 lets kick on together this month #blues #together
