Donegal Olympian Brendan Boyce visited his former school Mulroy College to discuss his recent Olympic experience in Rio.
Boyce performed superbly in Rio, and finished in the World’s Top 20 for the first time in his Olympic career finishing 19th overall.
Boyce also featured at the London Olympic Games in 2012.
Mulroy College students were privileged to have their local Olympian Brendan Boyce visit the school last week.
Brendan spoke to the students about the hours of dedication and effort that went into the Olympic experience.
He gave great encouragement to all to get out and get active, in conjunction with this,the school is participating in the European week of Sport, where activities will be held daily in soccer, basketball, walking, badminton.
This will conclude with a 5km/10km walk run/walk on Saturday 17th Sept at 11am.
The event on Saturday is open to the public and all are welcome.
Brendan thanked the staff of Mulroy College for their continued support to him throughout his career.
He talked about being in Mulroy College as a teenager where all his dreams began. As a school community we would like to wish him every success in China in the next few weeks where he will be competing again with fellow athletes Rob Heffernan and Alex Wright
