The Finn Harps U17s have given themselves a decent chance of qualification for the quarter-finals of the FAI National League competition after a fine 2-0 win over Derry City in a local derby at the Brandywell this afternoon.

Goals from James Carolan and Ryan Cunningham sealed the victory for Declan Boyle’s boys.

The Harps U17s have just one game remaining in the Northern Section where the three points will be needed in order to stay in the frame for qualification.

That match is next Saturday in Ballybofey against Monaghan/Cavan (kick-off 2.00).
