Hundreds of car enthusiasts and supporters turned up for the Paul Holian Recovery Fund Classic Car Run this afternoon.

The run left from Mountain Top, Letterkenny via Ballyare to Ramelton, and then on to Knockalla, visiting Fanad and then returning to Carr’s of the Diamond.

Paul (39) from Ballyarr, was seriously injured in a devastating accident on July 9th which turned not only his life but his family’s life upside down.

Due to this, his extended family and friends have established the Paul Holian Recovery Fund to help him, his partner Nicola and their two children on this challenging long and tiring journey.

Paul was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital following the accident before being transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

He is currently back in Letterkenny waiting for the call that will bring him to the Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire.

The journey to rehabilitation will be a lengthy one and consequently the support of his family and friends and the local community is key.

The car run brought everyone together and rallied some much needed support for Paul.

Among the fund-raising efforts being organised is a ticket draw – the top prize for which is a week for two trip to Dubai including flights and hotel.

Tickets cost ten euro each and are available from Gary Holian 086 2158420 at the Dry Arch Complex in Letterkenny, from Pat Hegerty at Ballyare (086-8904850) and from Carr’s of The Diamond.

The draw will take place on Friday night, October 21st, at a special function in the Clanree Hotel where music will be by the Ryan Turner Band along with a number of local artists all getting together in support of the charity.

Another fundraiser is coming up on the second of October when a tractor run will leave from Carr’s of the Diamond at 11am.
