Two young women have died in a car smash on the outskirts of Ballybofey.
The accident happened around 4.30pm this afternoon on the Glenfin Road, about 800 metres past Jackson’s Hotel.
The two women, one aged 19 and the other 38, were in a car which left the road.
No other car was involved in the accident which took place on a sweeping bend on the R252.
A third person in the car has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with non life-threraening injuries.
The road has been sealed off for a full forensic examination.
However, Gardai have confirmed to Donegal Daily that two people have died as a result of the crash.
Their identities are not yet known.
