UPDATED: The main road between New Mills and Glenswilly has now been re-opened following an accident this evening.

The crash occurred at 8.45pm, and it is believed the car overturned as a result of the accident.

The road was closed temporarily as Gardaí and emergency personnel attended the scene.

Diversions were put in place, and Gardaí advised motorists to avoid the area if at all possible.

It is understood that two people were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, but there injuries are not serious.
