Letterkenny Gaels Club Notes:

The Junior A football team bowed out of the championship at the weekend when they were defeated by Downings. Attention now turns to the league where the lads have three remaining games.

The Junior B lads are in action against Urris in the county semi final which is fixed for 12 noon this Saturday with the venue to be confirmed. See Facebook for details.

Letterkenny Gaels thespians have been busy at work over the last number of months preparing for the upcoming comedy ‘It’s The Real Mc Coy’ which will be presented at the Club House in mid October. Given the success of last years show we would advise early purchase of tickets. Please see club Facebook & Webpage for dates and further information.

The outdoor training for the Camogs has concluded for this year. Indoor training will resume for all age groups in the LYIT on Friday 4th November.

It was a busy weekend for the Letterkenny Gaels underage football teams.  Despite the poor weather conditions, the under 8s and 10 football teams were both out on Saturday participating in Go Games against neighbouring clubs.

The Gaels under 8s travelled to Termon GAA Club to play against two strong squad of young footballers from Termon and Gweedore.  All three clubs fielded a number of teams with a good mix of boys and girls participating.  The travelling Gaels were very grateful of the hospitality received in Termon with tea and coffee served to the parents and treats provided to the players.

The under 10s travelled to Newtoncunningham to take part in the 4 team mini tournament. Naomh Colmcille, Doirecolmcille and Moville completed the quartet. All clubs fielded very strong teams that produced some top quality football watched by a large crowd at the Naomh Colmcille GAA Club. The tournament was won by the home side and the plate by Doirecolmcille. A very sporting gesture was made by Letterkenny Gaels with four of their players, Michael Sweeney, Jack Keys, Andrew Nicholls and Sean McCarron fielding for Doirecolmcille in the plate final against the Gaels.

The outdoor underage football training has concluded for the season. Please see Facebook in the coming weeks for dates and venues for indoor training.

Outdoor hurling training for all teams has finished for the season.

The indoor underage hurling will resume in late October.

Please keep an eye on the club Facebook for exact details in the coming weeks.

Bingo continues every Monday in Arena 7. The Jackpot this week is €2750. Doors from 8pm. Eyes down 9pm. All welcome.

Sympathy is extended to Thomas Mc Ginty and family on their recent bereavement.
