Mother makes plea to heartless thief who stole cash on daughter’s birthday

A Letterkenny mother has issued an appeal after money was taken from her purse this afternoon.

Liz Porter took her daughter Addison to McDonalds in Letterkenny for a treat to celebrate her fourth birthday. She then took Addison to the baby changing room, but left her phone and purse behind when leaving the restaurant.

Liz was driving away before realising she had forgotten the items. She quickly turned back and found them in the changing room, but was shocked to discover her purse had been emptied. There was approximately €160/170 in the purse, she told DonegalDaily.

“I’m heartbroken as I hadn’t even got a birthday cake or present for my wee doll,” she said.

Liz reached out to McDonalds staff, who have told her that CCTV will be reviewed.

The theft took place within a 25-minute window, she said, and she is asking the thief to return the cash as her special day with her little girl was spoiled by their actions.

“Maybe if somebody had a heart they would give the money back,” she said.

If anyone has any information about the incident, contact Liz on 0864692066. People can also contact Donegal Daily on Facebook or email info@donegaldaily.com.
