GAA: Get your tickets for Malin GAA Mr & Mrs show

Malin GAA Notes

Mr & Mrs

Malin GAA presents Mr & Mrs on Saturday 29th October, upstairs in our Clubhouse. Doors open at 8.30pm with the show starting at 9pm sharp. It’s always a brilliant night’s entertainment and only €10. MC on the night is the fantastic Kevin Gallagher. Shaun McLaughlin

Congratulations to our very own Shaun McLaughlin (F) who has been announced as referee for the Senior Championship County Final next Sunday between Glenswilly and Kilcar. Shaun has been dedicated to the cause for many years and is finally starting to see the rewards. The Club would like to say a massive well done and best of luck.

Underage

The club would like to congratulate Patrick Collins, Terence McLaughlin and Paul Gallagher and their minor team who beat Glenfin last week in the Division 2 Shield final.

The team on the evening was Daniel Houghton, Robert Boggs, Cormac Cullinan, Conor Kelly, Connor McColgan, Ryan Doherty, Conor Quigley, Ciaran Doherty (JR), Conor Bambrick, Oisin McGonagle, Tiarnan Stevens, Sean Byrne, Conor Gallagher, Joesph Doherty (PM) and Conor McGeogeghan. Subs Callum Harley, Sean O’Neill, Josh Conlon, Padraig McCarron and Joe Doherty.

In a tough game, a goal in the last five minutes and an injury time point from substitute Joe Doherty got the team a hard fought victory. They now are through to the county semi-final.

The under-16 boys won their Quarter Final against Red Hughs in the Northern Board Division Two Competition on Sunday on a scoreline of 1.14 to 1.04. They are now through to the Semi Final with details yet to be confirmed.

The club would also like to say well done to Liam O’Neill and the under-13 team who played in the Division 1 shield final on Monday night (See Facebook for result).

Our U16 girls narrowly missed out on a place in the county final last Saturday. It has been a great season for the girls and their managers would like to thank them and their parents for their commitment, dedication and encouragement to the sport. They have come a long way and are now competing with the best. The team on the day were: Tara Kelly, Rachel Harkin, Caiti Farren, Laura McGeoghegan, Alana McDaid, Breda Doherty, Ailbhe Mc Laughlin, Siobhan Farren, Niamh Doherty, Kerri Stevens, Tara O’Connor, Erin Mc Laughlin, Ciara Mc Laughlin, Diane Mc Gilloway, Aine McColgan, Ellen Keyes, Seanain Mc Laughlin and Claudia McLaughlin.

The under 12 girls continue training every Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:00pm, All girls are reminded to bring runners, football boots, €2 and a gum shield, new members welcome.

Lotto           

There was no winner of this week’s jackpot of €1050. The numbers drawn were 4-3-5-6-1-2-7. The €50 winner was Breda Ruddy, Kindroyhead, Gleneely. Next week’s jackpot is €1100.

Club Pool Room

The pool room is now open every Saturday and Sunday evenings from 8:00pm to 11:00pm in the clubhouse for anyone looking to play a game of pool.

Jiving Lessons

Jiving lessons continue in the clubhouse every Monday from 9pm to 10pm with Josie & Catriona. €5 per person. Everyone welcome.

Irish Dancing          

There will be Irish dancing lessons upstairs in the clubhouse every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:15pm and every Friday 4:00 to 5:30pm for boys and girls from age 3 and upwards. All beginners welcome, competitive and non-competitive dancers. Contact Donna for more details 0862615755.

Club Gym                      

Charlie Byrne Health and Fitness is now running exercises classes in the New Get Fit Gym at the Malin GAA Clubhouse. Mixed morning classes at 6:30am and 9:30am, ladies only class at 6:30pm and indoor cycling at 7:30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Men’s class on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm. €5 per class or €60 for all classes for 6 weeks. One year gym membership for existing Malin GAA members €100. New gym members €120. Club Shop    

The club shop is open every Saturday from 12.00 – 2.00 and Sunday from 11.20 – 2.00 or alternatively contact Susan Byrne on 9370638 or 0867832242. The shop has a great range of stock in all sizes including coats, jackets, hoodies, tracksuits, socks, shorts, hats, new gear bags and much more club merchandise.
