Groups of ticket sellers are visiting your locality at the moment seeking to raise funds for the Paul Holian Recovery Fund.

Please contribute because this is a very worthy cause for a young man who suffered a life changing trauma in a simple accident in July.

Paul who is just 39 years of age with a partner and young family was initially treated at Letterkenny LUH and then transferred to the Mater in Dublin.

He has now been admitted to the Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoghaire for an intense programme of therapy.

The Holian family from Barrack in Ballyare are a legend at helping every worthy cause for miles around and for a generation. They are also well-known in horse racing circles around the country.

Paul Holian should be looking forward to a long life working as a bricklayer and socialising with his family and friends.

But a shocking accident on July 9th has removed him from work and leisure activities for the foreseeable future as the long road to recovery stretches ahead and his family is left to count the cost.

But Paul has time and new advances in medical technology on his side and he’s also an amazing amount of courage to carrying him through.

Meanwhile his family and friends have set up The Paul Holian Recovery Fund to help Paul and his partner Nicola and their two children, through his long and difficult road to recovery. The family and friends have now set out on their own road in fundraising towards Paul’s recovery.

Ciaran Brogan who is among those burning up the miles to raise funds says that their work is vital to ensure that Paul is given every chance of recovery and a major ticket-draw is now underway.

That is why the ticket sellers are out on the doorsteps and please give them your best support. The top prize is a week for two trip to Dubai including flights and hotel.

Tickets cost €10 each and are available from Gary Holian 086 2158420 at the Dry Arch Complex in Letterkenny, from Pat Hegarty at Ballyare (086-8904850) and also from Carr’s of The Diamond.

The draw will take place on Friday night, October 21st, at a big function in the Clanree Hotel where music will be by the Ryan Turner Band along with a number of local artists all getting together in support of the charity.
