Natasha McGee from Dungloe was all dolled up to attend the Rosses Community School prom on Thursday evening when her sister Mel popped out from behind her bedroom door after not seeing her for three months!

Mel McGee from Dungloe has been studying in Glasgow and hasn’t been able to make it home in over three months. Mel shares a very close relationship with her sister Natasha, and they facetime every single night. Mel decided to surprise Natasha on her prom night by coming home – without her knowledge!

Speaking to Donegal Daily, Mel said; “I was devastated thinking that I couldn’t be there for her prom, I just started a new job as well so I definitely didn’t think I’d be able to get off.”

“Dad is also working away and wasn’t able to make it. So a few weeks ago I explained to my new boss my situation and he was so nice and said to take a few days off. I booked flights and told mum to not open her mouth. All of our family were in on it to keep her thinking that nothing was going on.”

“Tasha’s best friend Mikaela was the best person to enlist with the secret and she planned the whole video and where it would happen! It really wouldn’t have been possible without her help!”

“I’m so glad we did it cause she was so shocked and happy! She was just delighted, she kept saying ‘I can’t believe you’re here’.”
