A free event which focuses on ‘shining a light on Lung cancer’ will take place on the fifth of November at Glenveagh National Park.

The group will meet at the visitor’s center at 6pm, and will do a 5K walk with some informal talks about lung cancer.

The event has been organised by Anne-Marie Baird, a Donegal scientist based in Dublin.

Anne-Marie says; “I work on lung cancer and this November I am bringing ‘Shine A Light on Lung Cancer’ to Ireland for the very first time. The aims of this event are to increase lung cancer awareness, help tackle the stigma associated with the disease and raise funds for research.”

“In Ireland, lung cancer kills more males than prostate cancer and more females than breast cancer, yet few are aware of this fact or of the symptoms associated with the disease.”

Attendees are asked to dress appropriately and bring a torch!
