Intermediate Reserve.

Our Intermediate Reserve Team recorded a win over Na Dunaibh in Division 3 of the All County League on Saturday at Trialough. This was good preparation for the side as they get ready for a meeting with Cloughaneely in the championship final. Final score Gaeil Fhánada 3-13 Na Dunaibh 3-07.

The club would like to wish our Reserve Team good luck as they strive to win the Intermediate Reserve Championship. At the time of going to press a time or date had not been agreed for the fixture.

A big thank you to Marine Harvest for their sponsorship in the lead up to the final.

Senior Team

Our senior team play Na Dunaibh this weekend in Downings. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for day and time.

Boys Under 13.

Our under 13 boys were unlucky in their Shield Final, played in Convoy on Friday evening. Played in perfect conditions, under lights, the boys were beaten by four points. Having trailed by 10 points with ten minutes to go our boys mounted a brilliant and valiant comeback to reduce the margin. The young boys can be very proud of their efforts with Callum McAteer, Brian Gallagher and Ciaran Sweeney very impressive, among others. With a number of these boys still eligible to play at this age group next year, they can look forward to a very promising future.

Fanad team: Brian Gallagher, Ciaran Sweeney, Gerard Sweeney, Aaron McConagley, Conor McGarvey, Calum McAteer, Liam McGrenaghan, Conor Heraghty, Hugh Rogers, Darren McAteer, Michael Gibbons, Cian Sweeney, Shaun Carr, James McAteer, Brandon Friel, Shaun McDevitt, Caolan Gibbons and Cian Friel.

Well done boys. The club are very proud of your efforts!

Girls Under 13

Our under 13 girls will play their final game of the season this week. We wish them well as they take on the girls of Sean McCumhaill’s

Lotto

Numbers drawn in our weekly lotto were 1; 6; 9; 17; and 20. Bonus number was 19.

€100 winner was Paddy Blaney, Tamney and €50 went to Kevin Kingston. There was no jackpot winner, so next week’s jackpot is €800.

Please buy a lotto this week to be in with a chance of winning! Panels are €2 each or you can buy three for €5.

All Ireland Club Draw

In the coming weeks, members of Gaeil Fhánada will go house to house in the club area, selling tickets for the National Club Draw. One ticket gives you entry to three different draws with many prizes on offer locally, within the county and nationally. Members of our club were very lucky in last year’s draw with two members winning substantial prizes at county level.

All proceeds of the draw collected locally will be used for the benefit of the club through coaching and development.

We would urge every member of the club to buy a ticket. If any club member would like to help out with selling tickets in our own area, please attend a short meeting on Thursday night, in Fanad Lodge at 9 p.m.

Scór na n-Óg

Club members will be busy practicing for the County Semi Finals of Scor in the coming weeks. If you are aged under 17 and would like to take part in a Music Group, Ballad Group, Quiz team, Recitation or dancing please contact our Scor officer, Declan Dorrian or any committee member.

Mindfulness

Club members are invited to take park in a Mindfulness Workshop which will take place in the Day Centre, Trialough this Thursday, October 20th at 7 p.m.

Date for the Diary

This year’s Club Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday November 20th. All adult club members are encouraged to attend as those present have a big part to play in forming club policy for the year, as we go forward.

This year the GAA governing body have decided that all membership must be paid before December 31st. This will mean that all players will be insured from January 1st. The new membership fee will be decided by members present at our AGM.

FINALLY, WE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE ALL OUR SUPPORTERS TO COME OUT TO SUPPORT OUR TEAMS IN THE LAST FEW GAMES OF THE SEASON. THE BOYS AND GIRLS IN THE CLUB REALLY APPRECIATE IT. YOU CAN CATCH UP WITH OUR FIXTURES ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE
