Gardai launch hunt after woman attacked as she slept in her home

A woman was subjected to a horrific sex attack in her own home.

Gardai are hunting the attacker who terrorised his victim in Letterkenny last weekend.

The man broke into the property not far from the centre of the town while the victim slept in the early hours of last Sunday.

He crept into her bedroom and carried out the sickening attack before fleeing the scene.

So far Letterkenny Gardai have not made any official comment on the horrendous sex attack.

It’s understood they have been combing through hours of cctv footage from Letterkenny town centre and arterial routes in a bid to identity the attacker.

A Garda source confirmed they are investigating the attack but no other details on the incident have yet been released.
