Letterkenny Hospital scoops awards for e-rostering programme

The eRoster Project at Letterkenny University Hospital won two awards for their e-rostering system at the hospital, Award for improving working lives through technology – Dr Anne Drake, Director of Nursing and the second award for Outstanding contribution by an individual – Michelle Donnelly, eRostering Project Manager.

The project was a finalist in five categories at the Allocate User Group Conference which took place recently in Birmingham.

The eRostering project was officially launched on 30th April 2015 at Letterkenny University Hospital. The Nursing team at LUH are implementing an eRostering system using Allocate products.

The eRoster Hub is situated on Floor B of Letterkenny General Hospital and will facilitate the roll out of eRoster training to approximately 860 nursing staff.

Sean Murphy, General Manager, Letterkenny University Hospital, “The e-Rostering system provides information on ward staffing levels, skill mix and patient acuity, which enables the manager to make informed decisions.

By minimizing risk and maximising quality of care and patient safety, eRostering supports nurse managers with the tools and information necessary to have the right numbers of staff, in the right place at the right time to deliver quality service.”

In total there are 195 Trusts across UK sites currently using Allocate suite of products.

Letterkenny University Hospital is the first acute site in the Republic of Ireland to use the Allocate Software suite of products to electronically roster staff.

Highly Commended:- Award for Staff Engagement – Deirdre Keown, eRostering Systems Administrator
Highly Commended:- Award for bringing the patient to the centre of workforce planning and delivery – Sinead Fisher, CNM3, Medicine

Finalist:- Ireland and Northern Ireland Region – Regional Project Team of the Year
