Tir Chonaill Gaels Notes – 7th November 2016

Andy Duffy Memorial Day

Thanks to everyone who turned out to remember Andy on Saturday, all the members of the different clubs that attended reflected the esteem in which Andy was held, a special thank you to Fr TJ Plower for the service.

On the playing field, the Juniors attempted to earn the end of year bragging rights over the seniors, the bookies odds shortened on the seniors when JP O Donnell was spotted in the car park with his kit bag. He didn’t let the side down with the Juniors unable to cope with the aerial bombardment of high ball into the old fella.

Paul Coggins was introduced to try and stem the tide and raised the white flag but the seniors did enough to keep the young bucks quiet for another year!!

Thanks to the players and to Maurice for refereeing.

Congratulations

Congratulations to our Minor board chairman Michael Cunningham who has been awarded ‘Donegal Person of the Year’ by the Donegal Association of London. Michael gives his time unselfishly and in abundance and we hope he and his family enjoy the award.

Dublin County Final

Congrats to former players Joe Feeney (Armagh) of St Vincent’s and Peter Sherry (Fermanagh) of Castleknock who contested the Dublin Senior final with their adopted clubs on Saturday. Joe and St Vincent’s came out on top with Joe getting on the score sheet himself.
