Huge crowds brave freezing cold to see Letterkenny Christmas lights switch-on

Huge crowds braved freezing temperatures on the streets of Letterkenny last night for the official turning on of the town’s Christmas lights.

Market Square was thronged with families officially welcoming the festive season in what was a hugely successful night.

MC for the evening Keith Fletcher was joined by a host of well-known faces including Mayor James Pat McDaid and even members of Donegal’s Fittest Family – The Ryans!

The biggest cheer of the night was for the arrival of Santa who arrived in style on board a vintage lorry courtesy of Tinneys Farm Toys.

One of the main sponsors for the evening was BE Energy who helped distribute bags of goodies for the many children who turned up on the night.

Once again the night could not have been the success it was without the input of the local Letterkenny Chamber including the colourful Toni Forrester and Anne Condon.

It really is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…..!
