There is widespread shock and disbelief in the Donegal GAA community and further afield at the sudden death of Connie O’Gara.

Connie, who was in his mid 50s, passed away today suddenly leaving his home parish of Glencolmcille stunned by his departure.

A true Gael, Connie played at many levels for Naomh Columba and indeed, was a members of their senior team which won senior medals in 1985 and 1988.

He further served the GAA when he refereed after he stopped playing the game and also served on the executive of Naomh Columba.

He will be waked at his home in Garaross, Glencolmcille.

Removal from his family residence on Thursday morning to St. Columba’s Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille for 11am mass. Burial after in the adjoining cemetery.
