A Donegal business has warned other businesses to be on the lookout for fake €50 notes.

Donegal Airsoft, which is based in Newtowncunningham, put up the warning after it received a number of the dud notes.

The business even posted pictures of the forged notes on their Facebook page.

A statement on their Facebook page warned “Warning to all business owners, sales staff or Xmas shopper’s in North West. We got this fake €50 note in this week.

“The top one in the picture is real, the bottom is fake. The fake has a hologram and even has a stuck on rippled edge up beside the big 50.

“Lucky for us we have a top of the range cctv system in place and will be following this up.”
