A GROUP of up to 40 protesters greeted the arrival of Health Minister Simon Harris to Letterkenny University Hospital today.

Minister Harris officially opened the Integrated Blood Sciences Department and the Clinical Skills Laboratory at the Hospital today.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) said that 22 people were on trolleys today, awaiting admissions to the hospital.

Protesters assembled at the reception area of the Clinical Skills Laboratory before being asked to leave by members of the Gardaí.

“It’s an absolute scandal having 22 people on a hospital trolly here today,” one of the protesters said.

“The crowd that has come out here is a bit disappointing, but hopefully we will get the message across.”
