Gardai investigate delivery of letters about presence of paedophile

Gardai have confirmed claims that letters were delivered in a Letterkenny Housing estate warning residents that a paedophile had moved into the area.

Claims have been made that the letters were delivered at around 4pm on Tuesday last by a man dressed in an An Post type uniform.

However it is not believed he was an official postman.

The letters warned residents about the paedophile who is believed to be originally from Galway.

Various allegations were made in the three page letters.
