Everton defender and Ireland skipper Seamus Coleman is doing his bit to support local charities by backing the Christmas Spirit LK project.

The footballer recorded a video to show his support for the #LetterkennyCares campaign, which last week reached their fundraising target of €2,500.

On December 1st, the Christmas Spirit LK launched their music video ‘Put A Little Love In Your Heart’ for the #letterkennycares project in aid of the Donegal Hospice and Pieta House.

The fundraising drive quickly gained popularity thanks to the number of businesses and community groups involved in the video. They reached the target of €2,500 within 12 days and have quickly gone on to raise €3,000 in donations.

The group, led by Pete Rose, show no signs of stopping before Christmas and are continuing to gather celebrity support and donations. Watch the latest video from soccer star Seamus Coleman here:

The music video features 16 businesses from around Letterkenny, including UHG, the Credit Union, the Donegal Hospice, Pieta House and the Letterkenny Gardai. Famous faces Daniel and Majella O’Donnell, Jason Quigley, Michael Murphy and Mickey Joe Harte all made an appearance.
