An Post has clarified that it has not saved Dunlewey Post Office but is working to retaining the services at the scenic village.
A spokesman said they are still in negotiations with a view to retaining “a significant level of post offices services.”
A spokesperson said “There is a proposal that a significant level of services normally provided by the post office at Dunlewey can be retained in the local area. This proposal would involve the designation of a local business as a form of Postal Agency.
“This would mean that payment of Department of Social Protect payments as well as a range of other services would still be provide locally.’
