The Friday Open was won by that little dark horse from Carn JJ Lafferty [18] with 38pts. In second place was Dermot Doherty [g][17] with 35pts and in third spot was retired President Frank Harkin [17] with 34pts.

The Saturday Open was played in bitterly cold windy conditions and taking top place was 9 handicapper John McHale with 36pts. One of the hardy Dungiven crew John Mullan[13] took 2nd with 34pts. Thomas Duddy [12] took 3rd also with 34pts. Denis Clancy [10] made an appearance in 4th place on 34pts also. The Gross went to Cormac McGeady [4] with 26 gross pts.

Sunday was Christmas party day on both courses with everybody fighting to win a box of Pringles. On the Glashedy Paul Cox [15] with 38pts.

Paul shouldn’t really be allowed out on tough days like that. In 2nd place was a man who is well used standing out in all weathers through the years was Bernard McClure [19] also with 38pts. There was about 20 other prizewinners on that course but i can’t be bothered telling you anything about them.

On the Old course our resident Pro Gareth Mc Causland [1] took the Pringles with 37pts, he was helped by a run of 7 birdies between the 7th and 14th holes. Although his Christmas jumper was crap. In 2nd place was an ex Captain Paid Sweeney [17]who could be seen from outer space with a score of 37pts. There was about another 20 prizes on this course as well but sure who cares.

It turned out a great evening and night in the clubhouse so kudos to Eamon Sweeney and his entertainment team.
