The Garda leading the investigation into last night’s crash in which a woman died in Fahan has appealed for witnesses to the crash.

Superintendent Eugene McGovern, of Buncrana Garda station, appealed to anybody who was traveling in the Fahan area between 10.45pm and 11pm to get in contact with his office.

He said a number of people came across the crash in which a 25 year old woman died.

However, he appealed to anybody who may have also witnessed the crash to get in touch.

The road is expected to remain closed today while investigations into the cause of the two car collision continue.

Superintendent McGovern appealed to motorists across Donegal to slow down as weather conditions will remain hazardous through the day because of the poor weather.

“A lot of people will be out shopping today and there will be a lot more traffic on the roads. The weather conditions last night were bad and they are bad again today and we would appeal to people to take extra care,” he said.
