Kelly’s Centra named in Top 10 stores – for fourth successive year!

Kelly’s Centra Mountain Top, Letterkenny, has been named as one of the top ten Centra stores in Ireland – for the fourth successive year!

This is a significant achievement, especially when you consider that there are 465 Centra stores in Ireland.

It was the only Donegal store to be placed in the top ten and follows a full year of independent audits.

These were conducted every two to three months and included mystery shopper reports, “best in class” for fresh food, product innovation, value for money, and “best in class” for hygiene.

The winning store from the top ten will be featured in the Irish Independent, the biggest selling daily newspaper.

Kelly’s Mountain Top has already secured a number of awards, including Best Start up in 2012, and Retailer of the Year 2013 in the Letterkenny Chamber awards.

Not only was the Centra store expanded but the adjoining restaurant was completely redesigned.

Proprietor Mairtin Kelly paid tribute to his staff, acknowledging that they are “a really great team.”

He is keenly aware of the need to offer value and service and is particularly supportive of many community initiatives and charities as well as local suppliers.

Between them the Centra store and diner employ 65 people – and in doing so make an important contribution to the local economy.

“Our goal is to deliver daily,”

Kelly’s Mountain Top Centra has built up a strong neighbour trade and is also frequented by many people heading further afield on the N56.

Earlier this year they invested a further €200,000 on improving the fresh food offering the store has become famous for.

The new diner has proven to be very popular, with an extensive menu, and daily specials.

In the Centra store competition, the judge noted that it was a great addition to the business and the service was highlighted as being “best in class.”

With a vastly expanded range of products – including the great bakery, deli and craft butcher – Kelly’s Centra

Mountain Top really does lead the way.

“Regardless of whether people are spending five cent, €5, or €500, they are leaving us their money and we are truly grateful for their custom.

“We are proud of our great staff here and the way in which they embrace good customer service – it continues to amaze me how well customers are treated in the store.”

“I would like to thank all our customers for their support and wish them all a very Happy Christmas.”
