A message of hope for living and working in Donegal in 2017

Excel Partners is an accountancy firm started by local man Sean Carr. This is Sean’s Christmas message about how he has hope for business locally and his everyday immense pride of working and living in Donegal.

Four years ago, we started with the conviction the last thing the world really needs is another accountancy practice & we have always tried to make a difference to our clients lives & their families, our communities, our country & the lives of those less fortunate around the world & to everyone we interact with-small or big-including those who we sit across the table with.

We have got somethings right but more importantly also somethings wrong, which will be our focus for improvement next year. The mirror is the toughest test of all.

I would like to expressly thank Fergus McAteer, Kerrykeel Park Committee & Community and a few other people who know who they are for re-igniting my passion & my spirit in my vocation, Donegal & more importantly Fanad.

It is a privilege to get up every day and enjoy & have fun in what you do. It is very hard to admit it but I used to have take scenic route home via Rathmullan to Fanad to avoid passing some very painful & soul destroying people, businesses & memories but isn’t my way home.

This Christmas Destination Donegal will be on & my trust in karma will take care of the rest.

In lieu of cards or presents, but to recognise my thanks to my family, old & new friends & clients that have helped us since we started we have purchased 100 books of The Club by Christy O’Connor, a wonderful GAA book, for members of my old GAA Club, Fanad Gaels-a club & community that have gone through very tough times in the last few years.

I would not be where I am today without this community and club and I learned some of my most important life and business lessons playing for the club and growing up in this beautiful place. We were recently honoured to be asked to help put a plan in place for the future. We always try and use our skills on a number of pro-bono projects throughout the year to voluntary organisations and to people you have contributed to their communities but are suffering financial distress-small or large-so that they can simply sleep better.

Hopefully this short video will explain why the book but more importantly will give a laugh at the end.

We wish you & your families, friends a peaceful Christmas & a healthy & happy 2017-
everything else is just noise.

Many thanks for the opportunity to serve you.

We will be closed from now to Tues, 3 Jan 2017 to dream, ponder, plan & prepare for a great 17.
