The 29th of December will be a special night for the village of Laghey – a home coming of sorts for the generations schooled in the area over the past 65 years.
Laghey Schools- The Big Reunion takes place in The Abbey Hotel with Music and Dancing from 9pm. Guests expected to attend are those who were at Laghey old and new school, Laghey Barr, Shannagh and Ballinkillew are many are expected from as far as London and New York.
This great event marks the kick-off for a year of fundraising to upgrade the outdoor recreational space at local school St. Eunan’s National School.
The build up to the night is proving to be a great sucess with a Facebook page posting great memories and photos from past pupils. The night itself is set to be a fantastic trip down memory lane for pupils and friends/family of the schools.
If there is one place to find the spirt of Christmas this year, it will be at this massive gathering of Laghey folk.

The Big Reunion marks the start of a major fundraising drive by St. Eunan’s Parents Association to start works on a new outdoor recreational area for the school in Summer 2017.
The Strategic Plan “St. Eunan’s – Our Five Year Vision” will be presented in January. The group are urging anyone with a link to the school to roll in behind this plan to secure outdoor facilities for the coming generations of Laghey pupils.
