A man killed when his car left the road at Gortahork yesterday has been named locally as Bartley Doohan.

The 59 year old was not far from his home at Curransport when the tragedy happened.

Gardai estimate the accident happened between 1.30-am and 11.30am on St.Stephen’s Day.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The late Mr Doohan had been a construction worker and had worked between Donegal, Scotland and England.

The crash happened as heartbroken relatives of Amy Loughrey were preparing to say their final goodbyes to her.

26 year old Amy died following a two car collision at Fahan on Thursday night last.

To date a total fo 13 people have been killed on Donegal’s roads so far in 2016 compared to 12 for all of last year.

Gardai have appealed to people to drive carefully over the holiday period.
