EXCLUSIVE: Five fishermen docked in Co Donegal were taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with suspected bird flu.
The five men, believed to be Russian nationals, were transported from Killybegs where their boat was docked.
It is understood the five men had shown some symptoms of the avian flu.
The men were taken to hospital and underwent a series of tests overnight.
However, the tests proved negative and the men were released earlier this morning.
A spokesman for Saolta, the group which looks after public relations for Letterkenny University Hospital, refused to comment on the situation.
A spokesman for Saolta would only say “The hospital does not do patient condition updates.”
Donegal Daily now understands from well-placed hospital sources that the five fishermen have now returned to their vessel.
