Foy checks in with Irish League side ‘Stute for rest of season

RAYMOND FOY has signed for NIFL Championship side Institute for the remainder of the season.

The Castlefin man, who surprisingly left Finn Harps midway through the 2016 season, had most recently been playing for Castlefin Celtic in the Donegal League.

The midfielder has now put pen to paper at Drumahoe.

Kevin Deery snapped up Foy, who was Harps’ player of the year in 2015 when they won promotion back to the Premier Division.

However, he started only four League games in 2016 prior to his departure in August.

“At my age I have to be playing regularly,” he said at the time.

“I’ve been fit now for a few months and haven’t featured so it was a decision I had to make for my own future.”

Having turned out for his hometown club, Castlefin, Foy is now back in senior football again.

‘Stute are third in the Championship, just six points off the leaders, Warrenpoint, with the club level on points with second-placed Ballyclare Comrades.

Andy Devlin and Sammy Morroe have also signed for Institute.
