STEPHEN MCBREARTY will miss Donegal’s entire McKenna Cup campaign due to injury.
The Kilcar man picked up a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s defeat to Sligo in the North-West Cup at O’Donnell Park.
McBrearty is facing a three-week lay-off meaning he will not be able to play for Donegal in the McKenna Cup.
The county Under-21s are participating in the competition and manager Declan Bonner says he is expecting a tough battle, with McBrearty having been set to be one of the more experienced players lining out.
“This is a senior inter-county competition and we’re in at the deep end,” Bonner said in an interview with Donegal Sport Hub.
Donegal face UUJ on Sunday with the opposition set to contain the likes of Donegal aces Patrick McBrearty and Ryan McHugh.
